Overview

An independent SEN school in the Crawley area is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and work closely with two boys in Year 5 who have ADHD, dyslexia, and sensory processing needs.

The school boosts some excellent facilities like a speech and language therapy room, an occupational therapy suite, an emotional regulation space and quiet rooms for self-regulation.

The Role
  • Provide consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and SEN specialists to adapt learning activities.
  • Support the student manage their emotions, focus in class, and engage with the curriculum.
  • Build a positive rapport, using a patient approach to build trust and create a safe, structured learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ADHD and sensory needs.
  • Understanding of behaviour support strategies and inclusive education.
  • Calm, compassionate, and proactive in responding to individual needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
