About the School

Simply Education is working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Ely, supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured, supportive, and nurturing environment, helping pupils develop emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and confidence both in and out of the classroom.


The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join this committed team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role in supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviours, emotional regulation difficulties, and complex social needs. Due to the location of the school and pupil transport requirements, a full UK driving licence is essential.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support pupils with SEMH needs in class, one-to-one, and in small groups

  • Assist teachers in delivering structured lessons and tailored learning programmes

  • Support behaviour management and positive intervention strategies

  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation, social skills, and self‑confidence

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

  • Contribute to a safe, calm, and consistent learning environment


About You


  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH or additional needs

  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with a consistent and positive approach

  • Confident managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional needs

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
