Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support

Longford Park Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is central to our commitment to providing a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment where every child can achieve and feel successful.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support for children with SEMH needs.
  • Assist with personalised support plans, behaviour strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups to develop social skills, communication and resilience.
  • Support positive behaviour through calm, consistent and restorative approaches.
  • Contribute to a safe and structured learning environment that promotes emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and external professionals.
