Teaching Assistant - Primary School (Seacroft, Leeds)

Location: Seacroft, Leeds
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full‑time, Term Time Only
Role: Classroom Support & SEN Support (Dual Role)

Are you passionate about nurturing young learners and helping them grow with confidence? One of our inclusive primary schools in the Seacroft area is looking for dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistants who believe in giving every child the chance to learn, make mistakes, and flourish.

About the Role

This is a dual‑role position supporting children:

  • In the classroom, helping to deliver engaging learning experiences
  • With SEN needs, offering patient, tailored support to individual pupils

You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to ensure all children—regardless of need—can access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality support within the classroom
  • Work 1:1 or with small groups of pupils with additional needs
  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils
  • Promote resilience, independence, and a love of learning
  • Help create a calm, structured, and encouraging environment
  • Support children both academically and emotionally as they learn through their mistakes

  • Nurturing, patient, and passionate about inclusive education
  • Interested in developing skills in SEND support
  • Confident working with a range of needs, including Autism, communication differences, or SEMH
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive staff team

  • Calm, consistent, and able to support children in a positive, encouraging way
