SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: NG13 – Bingham

Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday

Competitive Daily Rate | Paid via PAYE

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with an SEMH supporting independent School in NG13, a nurturing and inclusive setting supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This unique school environment is dedicated to creating a therapeutic and individualised learning experience for pupils aged 7–18 who may struggle in mainstream education. We are now looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team and make a genuine impact on pupils' lives.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Helping to create a calm, consistent, and safe learning environment
  • Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and therapists
  • Supporting academic and personal development in line with EHCP targets
  • Temp to perm for the right candidates
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural challenges
  • A calm, confident, and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Relevant experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision setting (desirable but not essential)
