Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Supply Desk is pleased to be working with a well-regarded primary school in Hemel Hempstead, known for its warm, inclusive community and supportive staff team. We are looking for a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately.

Role Overview

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to support pupils learning, confidence, and personal development. Your role will involve helping children build essential skills, develop independence, and thrive academically and emotionally. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in a nurturing educational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students, particularly those with additional learning needs or who may benefit from extra help.

  • Assist with classroom organisation, ensuring a positive, productive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Adapt resources and activities to meet the diverse learning needs of students, using strategies to aid engagement and progress.

  • Support class teachers during lessons, assisting with classroom activities and ensuring the needs of all pupils are met.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff, fostering an atmosphere of respect and collaboration.

  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

  • Monitor pupil progress and well-being, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to pupil development reviews.

Ideal Candidate
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential).

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.

  • Patient, empathetic, proactive, and supportive approach to working with students.

  • Confident in managing classroom behaviour and supporting classroom routines.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Understanding of inclusive practices and safeguarding standards.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
