An educational staffing organization is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work full-time in Blackburn, supporting students in Key Stage 4 with challenging behaviour. The role requires strong behaviour management skills and a passion for making a difference in young people's lives. Previous experience in support roles is desirable but not essential. This rewarding position offers the chance to foster engagement and promote positive behaviour while working closely with teaching staff.
Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday
Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 3:20pm
Friday: 8:00am - 2:30pm
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary Alternative Provision supporting students in Key Stage 4. This is a rewarding full-time role for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
Supporting students with challenging behaviour in a structured and supportive learning environment
Working closely with teaching staff to promote engagement, progress, and positive behaviour
Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships with students
Has strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Has experience working with young people in a support, care, or mentoring capacity
Is resilient, consistent, and confident in setting boundaries
Support work or youth work
Personal or lived experience relevant to working with young people
Sports coaching or physical activity roles
Military, policing, or other uniformed services
Experience within education is desirable but not essential-the right attitude, commitment, and ability to engage young people are key.
