Are you passionate about helping students thrive academically and emotionally? We're looking for compassionate individuals to join us in supporting students to develop their educational, social, emotional, and behavioral skills. As a Teacher Support Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing students' growth and success.

Limited-Time Sign-On Bonus for Teacher Support Specialists! Up to $1,000!

Bonus Payouts (new hires from Nov 17 – Jan 30):

  • 30–40 hrs/week: $300 at 60 days + $700 at 120 days (total $1,000)
  • 20–29 hrs/week: $200 at 60 days + $300 at 120 days (total $500)
Requirements:
  • A High School degree or GED.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to handle children in crisis situations with safety and compassion.

Housing: Latham may be able to provide temporary individual housing based on availability.

Compensation: $20.00 - 21.5 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Mon - Fri 7a-3p

Weekend Differential: If you pick up shifts between the hours of 7am Saturday through 6:59am Monday there is a weekend differential of $3.00 per hour for hours worked.

Key Responsibilities:
  • In cooperation with Special Education teacher, plan and implement classroom related activities.
  • In absence of Special Education Teacher, assume responsibility for the classroom.
  • Supervise students in classroom-related activities.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to implement IEP objectives.
  • Maintain appearance of the classroom.
  • Record behavioral progress in individual tracking logs on daily basis.
  • Daily communication with Special Education teacher regarding issues which impact students.
  • Active participation in supervision and Special Education component meetings.
  • Plan and/or assist with activities for school vacations and summer school recreation program.
  • Correct students’ classroom work. Review results with student and teacher.
  • Understand and implement the school behavior management program.
  • Design and implement individualized and group behavior management programs.
  • Other responsibilities as designated by Special Education Teacher or Principal.
  • Implement pre-vocational/vocational activities.
  • Any work assigned shall be related to the Employee’s normal duties, except for occasional emergencies.
