About The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish) to join our team at Chorlton High School. The posts are fixed term contracts for 12 months to cover maternity leave. Teaching terms the salary will be on Teachers Main-Upper payscale.

Working Hours: Full Time, 27.5 hours a week

Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

We’re looking for:

  • Two qualified and experienced Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) with French and Spanish specialism, eligible to work in the UK with successful experience in the 11-16 phase.
  • The ability to teach Spanish and French at KS3, thorough subject knowledge and an understanding of current MFL curriculum developments.
  • The ability to deliver quality teaching that drives achievement and inspires a love of learning.
  • Experience of achieving positive outcomes for pupils, with a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people. As a committed team player, you will have excellent organisational skills and the natural ability to motivate both pupils and peers.

Main purpose of the job:

The post holder will be responsible for improving the standards of learning and raising levels of student achievement for all students in their care, and fulfilling the professional responsibilities common to all classroom teachers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure that students experience an educational programme that is personalised to their needs, developing their skills and abilities.
  • To actively promote relevant MFL subject-related activities to promote students’ enthusiasm and interest.
  • To work collaboratively within the MFL subject team to reflect the whole school vision.
  • To foster a positive working environment in the MFL curriculum area that supports students’ learning.
  • To participate in the pastoral development of students, including acting as a form tutor for a group of students.
  • To contribute to a range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities across the curriculum area.
