• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Strong familiarity with the current national curriculum for English at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness for one).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver consistently high‑quality, engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Mark work regularly, providing high‑quality, actionable feedback that accelerates student progress.
• Contribute to the review, development, and improvement of the department’s schemes of work and resources.
• Track and report on the academic progress and attainment of all assigned students.
• Act as a tutor, supporting the social, emotional, and academic wellbeing of a group of students.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance and punctuality in lessons.
• Implement and uphold the school’s behaviour, safeguarding, and health and safety policies at all times.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and behaviour.
• Actively engage in departmental and whole‑school professional development sessions.
• Support the wider school life through participation in clubs, revision sessions, or school events.
