Overview

Secondary PRU Teacher - Birmingham

Academics Ltd is seeking a Secondary PRU Teacher to start at a SEN/SEMH School based in central Birmingham. The position is full time and due to start immediately!

The school are looking for a creative Teacher who is experienced in teaching and working with pupils with very challenging behaviour. The class is a KS3/4 class with up to 9 children.

This school specialises in catering for children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school or are not being able to maintain staying in a secondary school (various reasons) and as such, many of the pupils may have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD) or other SEN needs. Every class has 2 Teaching Assistants to support.

What the successful teacher should:

  • Have experience working/teaching in a PRU or with challenging behaviour students
  • Have Team Teach trained (desirable)
  • Have experience in supporting students with SEMH
  • Be qualified or highly experienced unqualified teacher
  • Have be able to plan and mark.
  • Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
  • Have experience working with KS2/3 4 pupils
  • Have knowledge of the national KS2 / 3 curriculum
