Job summary

A leading legal firm in Oxford seeks an experienced Trust & Tax Manager to join their growing Wills and Inheritance team. The successful candidate will manage tax returns, trust accounts, and compliance matters while working closely with clients. An AAT or ATT qualification along with relevant experience is essential. Qualifications

  • AAT or ATT qualified.
  • Strong experience in a similar role offering trusts and tax services.
  • Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of self-assessment income tax returns and CGT returns.
  • Preparation of annual trust accounts and compliance matters.
  • Preparation of inheritance tax returns.
  • Arranging payment of tax and contacting HMRC.
  • Registering trusts on HMRC's trust register.
  • Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, and other professionals.

Skills

AAT or ATT qualified
Strong experience in a similar role

Job description

Our client is a legal 500 ranked firm and due to continual growth, they are now looking for additional support in their busy Wills and Inheritance team. We are seeking an experienced Trust & Tax Manager who has broad experience in offering private clients a range of services, including, wills, inheritance, probate, estate administration, tax planning and trusts.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of self-assessment income tax returns and land disposal CGT returns for trusts, estates and individuals
  • Preparation of annual trust accounts and associated annual compliance matters
  • Preparation of inheritance tax returns in respect of exit charges, 10-year charges, and the termination of life interests
  • Arranging payment of tax and corresponding with HMRC as required
  • Dealing with FATCA and CRS compliance
  • Registering trusts on HMRC's trust register and maintaining the register
  • Liaising with trustees, beneficiaries, investment advisers and other professionals
  • Attending annual trustee meetings where appropriate
Qualifications
  • AAT or ATT qualified
  • Strong experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and excellent Excel skills
  • Experience of tax return and probate case management software, preferably TaxCalc and Isokon would be advantageous.
