Job description

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £42,600 – £64,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Role

As a Tax Analyst, you will work as part of our Tax team and alongside finance teams throughout the wider group to help deliver SSEs strategy including its ambitious Net Zero Acceleration Programme.

You will
  • Assist with VAT and environmental tax compliance for the SSE Group.
  • Prepare employment tax returns and advise employees on employment tax matters.
  • Assist with tax accounting, reporting and analysis.
  • Advise the wider Finance Teams and businesses across tax related issues.
  • Assist in the implementation of tax technology solutions and process improvement to streamline and improve tax compliance.
You will have
  • A Chartered Tax Advisor qualification or an accounting qualification (CA/ACCA) or be in the latter stages of qualification.
  • Tax experience at a leading accounting firm and/or in-house tax department with a particular focus on compliance, reporting and analysis.
  • Experience of using relevant software and systems such as ERPs (Oracle, SAP, etc), tax compliance or analysis tools such as AlphaTax, OneSource or Alteryx.
