Job description
Overview

As a Tactical Ventilation Trainer, you\'ll have a role that\'s out of the ordinary. It will provide opportunities to grow and develop your career, achieve a healthy work life balance and to be recognised for the great work you do. Day-to-day, you\'ll deliver engaging, practically based, high energy lectures and assessments to ensure students understand and can utilise a tactical ventilation plan.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver an excellent student experience in accordance with the programme requirements.
  • Provide teaching, learning support and undertake observations to ensure students\' progress timely through their programme.
  • Develop highly motivated students who proactively engage with learning and transfer knowledge, skills and behaviours to the workplace, and enable them to integrate theory with practice through reflection.
  • Provide feedback and appropriate student support.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, and is offered on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based at the Gloucestershire Fire Service College, Moreton-in-Marsh. Happy to look at full time and part time opportunities.

Essential experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Results focused with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the fire service and the evidence base current context, challenges, and issues gained either through previous operational or training experience.
  • Fire service experience (beneficial)
  • Experience of supporting and driving the progression of students delivering apprenticeships or other work-based learning (desirable)
Qualifications
  • Breathing Apparatus instructor or happy to work towards this qualification.
  • Tactical ventilation / PPV instructor or happy to work towards this qualification.
  • Level 2 qualification (or higher) in maths and English, excellent literacy, numeracy and communication skills
Security clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
