Overview

IT Services client is hiring for a 3rd Line Systems Support Engineer with strong Solaris expertise. This is a permanent role based full-time on site in Basingstoke. Salary is between 50K - 55K + Bonus + Benefits.

You will be responsible for incident management, problem resolution, and continuous service improvement, working to strict SLAs and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Managing and resolving 3rd line incidents, ensuring SLA adherence.
• Delivering system training for new staff and contractors.
• Investigating complex problems and escalating when required.
• Performing regular backups of live and reference platforms.
• Implementing ad-hoc requests and driving continuous service improvements.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Solaris 10, UNIX / HP-UX, and Oracle 8-10g.
• Strong understanding of networking principles such as DNS and DHCP.
• Experience with PowerShell, Perl scripting, and VMWare v5/5.5.
• Microsoft Server (2003/2008R2/2012R2), Windows 7, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003.
