Job description
Responsibilities
  • To link and integrate systems whenever possible in support of the Local Health Community's strategy e.g. linking a cancer monitoring database to the Trust Patient Administration System (PAS).
  • To participate in ICT service development in relation to the web and custom solution developments.
  • To be able to manage workload and projects independently, without the assistance of a line manager, to the guidelines set by the task undertaken and only enrolling the assistance of the line manager or senior team members when necessary.
  • To deliver developments in a timely manner, prioritising work appropriately and using project management tools to help achieve this.
  • To assess complex software and hardware systems to ascertain their suitability for inclusion in development projects.
Policies and Procedures
  • To support the Trust Data Protection Officer and Caldicott Guardian (who have formal responsibility for information security) in the maintenance and monitoring of an effective security and confidentiality policy, especially as it relates to databases.
Working Relationships and Communications
  • To liaise with staff responsible for IT training to ensure that the training programme meets the needs of an efficient and well supported service. To minimise incidence and recurrence of problems by liaison with training staff. Provide technical advice and support for third party development interfaces to Local Health Community databases.
  • To develop training manual / guides to support end users, which may need to be available in both paper and electronic format on the website/intranet.
  • To provide individuals and groups with training and guidance on the usage of new systems and databases. This will require training members of staff with varying levels of IT literacy and the ability to communicate highly complex IT issues.
  • To work closely with the IT department to ensure that developments will work successfully in the Trust's computer network infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the senior members of the team where necessary.
Financial / Resource Responsibilities
  • To take personal responsibility for laptops or other computer hardware issued.
Other Responsibilities
  • To participate in appropriate training and development activities.
  • Ensure that all staff consciously review mistakes, complaints, and incidents / near misses as well as successes to improve performance and the level of customer care.
  • Education to degree level or equivalent experience in relevant area.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Working to OWASP methodology.
  • Full stack developer using Microsoft technologies (C#, MSSQL). Including knowledge of associated languages such as JavaScript, CSS and additional frameworks.
  • Ability to develop web-based systems, windows services and console/windows applications depending on the needs of the project.
  • Experienced knowledge of using software such as Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, IIS, Windows Server etc.
  • Experience with performance monitoring, ensuring key targets are met, and making recommendations based on data.
  • Experience supporting the development of business cases.
  • Experience of working collaboratively and building relationships with multiple stakeholders to scope and refine ICT or digital related projects.
  • Be able to develop in an agile way.
  • Tracking and monitoring system performances, KPIs, and more.
  • Ensure thorough testing of systems to identify and rectify any errors or inefficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently or part of team.
  • Ability to plan, work to deadlines with attention to detail.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of systems to ensure other members of the team can understand and support when necessary.
  • Be able to review and improve systems to adapt to ever evolving trust requirements and security guidance.
  • Has a responsive, solution focused approach to addressing issues and barriers.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously (where required), weighing up options to risks to independently implement successful solutions.
  • Can work as a team player, and recognises and acts on wider corporate responsibilities.

  • Ability to travel independently to a variety of locations across Coventry, Warwickshire, and Solihull as and when required, along with being based on site at our offices located in Warwick at least once a fortnight.

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working on complex projects situations.
  • A good understanding of health and social care in England.
  • RPA knowledge using software such as UI Path or PowerAutomate.
