The Vacancy

Hours of Work: 35 per week. Closing date: 5th December 2025. Interviews: 9th December 2025.

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual to join our established team. Reporting to our Finance Manager, our Systems Accountant lead the development and implementation of systems to support and aid the provision of finance related services to the organisation.

In addition, we are looking for candidates that have a passion to advocate on behalf of people and communities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and improve finance systems to meet business information needs, driving automation and efficiency.
  • Lead process automation initiatives and deliver minor system enhancements for day-to-day transactions.
  • Collaborate with ICT and software providers to assess and implement system improvements aligned with evolving business requirements.
  • Design and maintain financial reporting frameworks, including dashboards, KPIs, and ad-hoc tools, while providing training for staff.
  • Ensure system integrity and user support, including troubleshooting, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA) – Desirable.
  • Experience of working in a finance environment, and working with a finance team.
  • Ability to work pro-actively and under own initiative.
  • Experience of identifying and addressing data anomalies.
  • Influential and able to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience of developing business processes, including controls to address risks.
