A regional law enforcement agency is looking for a Surveillance Planner to join their Covert Operations Team. This role involves planning and logistical support for surveillance operations, requiring excellent communication and negotiation skills. Candidates should have an understanding of covert policing and a full UK driving licence. The position offers a supportive culture and various benefits, including a generous pension scheme.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveillance Planner to join our Covert Operations Team, part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE). You will be responsible for providing planning, briefing and logistical support to all surveillance operations carried out by CTPSE.
You will have an understanding of covert policing and the ability to research and evaluate information whilst assessing the importance of tasks and prioritising accordingly. You will also have excellent communication / presentation skills as well as the ability to negotiate and influence at various levels within an organisation.
Level 1 or 2 National surveillance training or awareness, working knowledge / experience of firearms risk assessments and a good understanding of disclosure and exhibit handling are desirable but not essential.
Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network. As a result you may be required to travel for business purposes, mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post.
