A care organization in the UK is looking for a Support Worker & Carer to assist a disabled teenager with daily activities and support needs. This full-time role requires experience with autism and disability and offers £16 per hour after training. Candidates should be flexible with working hours and able to engage with the teenager's care requirements. A friendly, supportive team is ready to welcome the right individual.
We are looking for a Support Worker & Carer for a disabled teenager for waking nights and day shifts. 2 waking nights (13 h) and 2 day shifts (7‑8 h) per week. Full‑time hours 37.5 hrs minimum, sometimes more. £16 per hour – £15 during 3‑month training. Please read the full ad before applying. Initiate conversation with a brief explanation of your interest. Experience with autism and disability required.
The teenager is a friendly, non‑verbal, very autistic young man with severe epilepsy, a movement disorder and additional health needs. He can walk only with support. He needs help with all elements of his daily life. He has 24‑hour 1:1 support and, for some activities, 2:1 support (eg. when visiting the pool, special needs bike club, visiting the park, going to shops and occasionally cafés and pub lunch). During all activities (even while walking) he requires full support at all times. His health conditions can lead to extended periods in hospital, so we need someone who can be fun but also very patient and able to provide extra support during hospital stays.
