Job description
Overview

We’re seeking calm and resourceful individuals to join our friendly team providing person-centred care and support to tenants in Ulverston, helping them engage in everyday life and enjoy various activities. Positive communication and engagement skills are essential, along with the ability to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we provide learning disability/autism support to.

Responsibilities
  • Work within a positive behaviour support framework, accepting responsibility and growing in confidence as a skilled practitioner.
  • Follow agreed guidelines and work within a consistent, supportive team ethos.
  • Engage in all aspects of the role including personal care, domestic tasks and community activities such as walking, swimming, and dining out.
  • Support people who express their needs through challenging behaviour.
  • Be proactive in creating an engaging, person-centred environment; prior experience is beneficial but not required.
Qualifications and Development
  • We value your personal skills and interests (e.g., sports, outdoor pursuits, creative arts, music, cooking).
  • Full training is provided, including accredited health and social care diplomas through our training academy.
  • Full training to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care is available.
  • DSB/DBS checks: company paid enhanced DBS included.
Location and Hours

The service is conveniently located with easy access to Ulverston by car, bus, and train. You’ll work on a flexible rota, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
