A caring family in Orpington seeks a warm and nurturing support worker for their 14-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy. This role involves providing personal care, engaging in fun activities, and occasionally supervising her younger brothers. Ideal candidates will have childcare experience and a passion for supporting children/young people with additional needs. Flexible weekend hours, with a pay rate of up to £20.00 gross per hour, with the potential for additional hours during school holidays.
You will support Helen during weekends, providing personal care and enabling her to enjoy fun activities and family outings. The role has a "big sister" feel, with lots of shared activities and pamper time. Occasionally, you may supervise Helen's younger brothers if parents are supporting Helen. Additional hours may be available during school holidays, and occasional overnight stays may be required with notice.
Childcare experience, clear spoken English, genuine passion for supporting children/young people with additional needs.

Days & Hours: 4 weekend days per month, 8.00am-6.00pm. Days can be individual Saturdays/Sundays or grouped together (e.g. one full weekend per month)

Helen is a happy, sociable 14-year-old who loves cinema trips, country walks, Disney, Barbie, arts and crafts, baking, swimming/hydrotherapy and anything involving beauty and pampering. She has cerebral palsy and developmental delay and requires adult support for all care needs. Helen is a wheelchair user and lives in a fully adapted home with hoists. She is PEG fed with a blended diet and has epilepsy, which is well managed with medication. Helen communicates through eye pointing, facial expressions and vocalisations and may need reassurance during periods of anxiety.
