A leading care provider in Mansfield is looking for a Care Support Worker to provide person-centred support to service users. The role involves assisting clients with personal care, daily living activities, and fostering relationships to enhance their wellbeing. Flexibility is essential, and the position includes both full-time and part-time options.
Care Support Worker (Mansfield & Southwell)
Salary: £12.21 - £12.57 per hour Hours: 16 – 37.5 per week
Monday – Sunday (ability to work flexibly – early, late, weekends, bank holidays and on-call responsibilities)
Type of contract: Full-Time, Part-Time, Permanent Reporting to: Service Manager
Mansfield would be 16 hours to start but can be full time if candidate willing to travel to Southwell too
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to provide hands-on, person-centred support to Reach Care’s service users, aligning with
Reach Care’s values, thereby fostering an environment that allows both service users and staff to flourish.
This role is based within the supported living properties (Southwell, Nottinghamshire) and community provision
(Mansfield and Southwell, Nottinghamshire). As such, there will be an expectation for this person to be regularly
visible within their designated service user teams.
The role is not suitable for home or hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
Care Support
• Support service users to carry out household tasks. Example(s) – cleaning, laundry, cooking and gardening.
• Support service users within supported living with all aspects of household living. Example(s) – budgeting,
appointments, shopping and accounts (tenancy, etc).
• Support service users in managing their health, including taking their prescribed medication.
• Support service users with personal care, where applicable. Example(s) – dressing, undressing, personal hygiene
and bathing.
• Support service users to maintain their mobility.
• Support service users with communication skills. Example(s) – reading, writing, MAKATON, and dealing with mail
(where applicable).
• Support service users in maintaining and developing a social circle, including maintaining contact with friends and
family.
• Support service users in maintaining existing skills while developing new ones. Example(s) – road safety and the
use of public transport.
• Monitor the schedule of delivered support and report where any changes may be required.
• Maintain quality standards and support the completion of quality audits.
• Maintain accurate records as required, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• Support the development and implementation of ‘Positive Behaviour Support’ (PBS) and its principles within the
services in which you work.
• Liaise with stakeholders as needed. Attend annual review meetings and multi-disciplinary meetings.
• Support the maintenance of a healthy and safe work environment within the properties where you work.
Including scheduling and monitoring the completion of fire safety checks/evacuations.
• Have good knowledge of the regulatory framework.
General
• Collaborate with other Care Support Workers within the organisation and provide cover as needed.
• Establish strong working relationships with all stakeholders.
• Attend required training in Safeguarding, Data Protection, Health & Safety, First Aid and any other subjects
identified as a requirement for the role.
• Support team welfare (service users and staff), thus report issues, risks and concerns.
• Work, always, in accordance with Reach policies and procedures.

Desirable Criteria:
• Has experience working with adults with learning disabilities.
• Has experience in using IT.
• Has good knowledge and experience of safeguarding.
• Can drive and is willing to travel for work purposes.
Key Skills & Qualifications
• NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent (desirable).
