A specialized care agency is seeking a Support Worker to assist young people leaving care in Weston-super-Mare. This role involves prompting daily tasks, encouraging independence, and supporting emotional wellbeing. Location: Weston-super-Mare (Single-Occupancy Flats). Temporary Role, £12.50 per hour + sleep in | Flexible Hours. Agency: Brook Street Social Care.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prompting with daily tasks: cooking, cleaning, laundry, filling in forms
  • Encouraging independence and routine
  • Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience
  • Promoting safe medication habits (where needed)
  • Handling verbal challenges and emotional behaviours with care
  • Lone working—but always part of a supportive team
What You'll Need
  • 1+ year experience supporting young people
  • Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People
  • DBS on the Update Service (preferred)
  • Energy, compassion, and a "can do" attitude
  • Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
  • No sponsorship available
About the Service

This is a highly person-centred service supporting care leavers as they prepare for full independence. The team is caring, committed, and dedicated to helping each young person thrive. Most placements last 6-12 months, with the goal of moving into unsupported tenancies.
