A national home care service provider is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support a young client with autism in Driffield. The role requires providing essential personal care and engaging the client in daily activities. Candidates must be reliable and flexible, with experience in autism care preferred. The position covers 12 hours weekly with potential for additional shifts.

Our personal care assistants join our clients support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client and your focus will be to support them only. This role will be to cover 12hrs a week on a Monday. You should be flexible to cover additional shifts if needed.
Our client is a young man with special needs, autism and limited mobility. He lives at home with his family in the Driffield area and you will be required to support him at home in the rural setting where he lives.
He enjoys cooking, baking, crafts, drawing, board games, pool, riding out on his scooter, photography, animals, wildlife, shopping and collecting Marvel and DC memorabilia.
He does require some personal care but there is no moving and handling involved.
Our client requires support with meal making, loading and unloading his scooter into the van and you will help with cleaning and tidying all of our client\'s living spaces and bed changes and make sure his areas are sanitised as he has brittle asthma.
When out and about, you will make sure he is safe and well supported constantly, as autism can make him feel vulnerable. You will make his life fun and interesting by creating things to do within his ability range.
