Job summary

A leading supported living healthcare provider is seeking a Male Support Worker in Willerby, Hull to provide compassionate care for a young boy with Autism and complex needs. Support Worker
Location: Willerby, Hull
Pay: £15.50 per hour (days/waking nights) | £10 per hour (sleep-ins)
Hours: 30 hours per week - Days and Sleep ins - 8:00am-21:00pm & 21:00pm-8:00am

We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Male Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting a young boy living in his family home in Willerby, Hull.

This individual lives with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and an Acquired Brain Injury, but more importantly, he enjoys trips to the beach, pub lunches, football, walking, and dancing. Your role will focus on providing safe, engaging, and person-centred support that encourages his independence and enriches his daily life.

What you’ll need:
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with Autism and Challenging Behaviour
  • A full UK Manual Driving Licence, you will be required to drive the person we supports car
  • To be local to or familiar with the Willerby, Hull area
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
Duties include:
  • Providing full support with personal care tasks due to double incontinence
  • Supporting him in the community to attend activities and ensuring his safety at all times
  • Working in a home with a dog, so staff must be comfortable around animals
  • Assisting with meal preparation, drinks, and monitoring dietary intake
  • Offering reassurance and support around anxiety
  • Being attentive to his health needs, as he is unable to manage these independently
  • Assisting with managing finances during outings and activities
  • Supporting him during episodes of physically challenging behaviour; staff should be confident in managing behaviours that may be intimidating at times
