A nationwide care provider is seeking a Support Worker in Ferndown to assist a male service user with Autism and other challenges. The role involves providing companionship, promoting independence, and engaging in enjoyable activities. Candidates should have at least 6 months of care experience and be willing to undertake training. Competitive pay and a supportive environment offered.
Job Title: Support Worker
Salary: £15 p/h
Location: BH22, Ferndown
Job Type: Full Time (must be able to work a minimum of 36 hours per week)
Shifts on offer*: Monday to Sunday: Days 09:00 - 15:00 / Afternoon 15:00 - 21:00
Shifts Times are set times, but Monday to Sunday flexibility on offer depending on availability.

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing are looking for a Support Worker within the Ferndown area who can support alongside a male service user, who has Autism, Moderate Learning Disabilities, extreme OCD and Challenging Behaviours. Our Support Worker roles are considered more of a companionship role by building up key relationships and promoting independence through daily tasks for our service user within her own home, and especially within the community.
Our Service User is supported on a 2:1 basis, with activities that will be based around what he enjoys doing, such as playing the piano, listening to music, colouring and but most importantly, suggesting new ideas and opportunities that serve the service user\'s best interests, by going above and beyond. At times, he will display behaviours that challenge and require staff to support him to self-regulate. You will need to communicate with him effectively and appropriately. You will also be given the opportunity to build a positive relationship with the Service User and their family. We are looking for someone who is resilient, strong-minded, but also outgoing, confident and willing to take on new challenges.
