A personal care agency is looking for a cheerful and patient Personal Assistant in the UK to support a woman with autism and complex needs. The role involves daily activities like swimming, cooking, shopping, and promoting independence. Ideal candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be creative, and enjoy interacting with pets. If you can bring positivity and encouragement to someone’s life, this position is for you.
Are you cheerful, patient, and full of life? Do you have a great sense of humour and enjoy helping others get the most out of every day? We’re looking for a friendly, upbeat Personal Assistant to support a 33-year-old woman with autism and complex learning difficulties, who has a brilliant sense of humour and a small, very lovable dog!
This is a role for someone who can bring positivity, fun, and encouragement into everyday activities. You’ll be helping her stay active by going swimming, playing badminton, and finding new ways to enjoy being out and about. She loves a good trip to the cinema or a musical, so a love for theatre (and possibly the occasional journey to Bristol for a show) is a big plus.
You’ll also support her in becoming more independent - helping with cooking, meal prep, food shopping, and accessing the community. The goal is to encourage confidence, independence, and plenty of laughter along the way.
The right person will be someone who can connect with her on her wavelength: fun, kind-hearted, and easy-going, with a genuine sense of humour. It’s important that you can bring warmth and understanding to your support while making sure each day feels positive and purposeful.
Occasional overnight stays may be required to provide her parents with some respite - this can be discussed further at interview.
If you’re someone who can make a difference with a smile, enjoys an active lifestyle, and values building a meaningful connection, we’d love to hear from you.
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. Disability Confident.
