Job Title: Supply Teacher / Cover Supervisor
Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas

About the Role

We are seeking reliable and adaptable Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors to join our team to provide high-quality classroom cover across schools in Birmingham. This role involves supervising classes during teacher absence, delivering pre-prepared lessons, and ensuring a positive learning environment is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-set work to classes in the absence of the class teacher.


• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.


• Support students in their learning, ensuring engagement and participation.


• Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school procedures at all times.


• Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to the smooth running of the school day.

Requirements

All applicants must meet the statutory compliance requirements to work in UK schools, including:

• Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).


• Right to Work in the UK - valid passport, visa, or other documentation.


• Two professional references covering the last 2 years (one from your most recent role in education).


• Proof of Address (within the last 3 months).


• Overseas Police Check (if you have lived/worked outside the UK for more than 6 months in the last 5 years).

Qualifications

• For Supply Teachers: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.


• For Cover Supervisors: Previous classroom-based experience is essential.


• Child Safeguarding Training (must be in date - training can be provided if required).


• Strong behaviour management skills and classroom presence.


• Previous experience in teaching, cover supervision, or classroom support.
