Overview

Alexander Steele Recruitment has partnered with an award-winning food business supplying all major UK retailers and foodservice customers with both branded and own-label products.

They are urgently looking for a Supply Planner to source high-quality products from worldwide suppliers, manage supplier relationships, and ensure that the business meets their customers' needs efficiently and ethically.

Key responsibilities
  • Work closely with suppliers, co-packers, and production teams to align supply with demand, manage lead times, and resolve constraints that could impact availability.
  • Support all aspects of the purchasing process from identifying new suppliers, understanding market movements, and managing order placement.
  • Translate customer demand forecasts into supply plans, ensuring sufficient stock availability while minimizing waste, particularly given the short shelf life of food products.
  • Monitor stock levels across distribution centres, balance supply with demand, and set safety stock parameters to ensure high service levels without overstocking.
Candidate requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Management or equivalent will be preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Materials Planning, Supply Planning, Buying or Purchasing in an FMCG environment.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
