Role: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Warwick

Duration: 12 months +
Rate: £35-£55 P/hr Umbrella DOE

As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will involve engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met and foster strong relationships with our suppliers.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers - Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
- Contain, manage, and resolve quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at our clients' assembly facilities, warehouses, or customers globally
- Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues
- Assist with process improvements
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and ensure quality systems are in place
- Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
- Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances, manufacturing development, and improvement via regular in-person presence at supplier sites
What You Bring
- Required: Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control routines
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable
- Proven ability to manage multiple problem investigations simultaneously
- Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
- Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability
- Experience working with or at manufacturing facilities
- Experience working with critical parts (e.g., disc, shaft, complex assemblies)
Preferred
- Proven track record of applying quality improvement processes and tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
- SAP experience
Working Requirements
- In-office presence - minimum 3 days per week
- No legal travel regulations
- Travel to suppliers up to 50%
