Role: Supplier Quality Engineer

Location: Warwick

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 months +

Rate: £35-£55 P/hr Umbrella DOE

Snapshot of Your Day

As a Supplier Quality Manufacturing Engineer, your day will involve engaging interactions with suppliers, analyzing data, and driving continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met and foster strong relationships with our suppliers.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead Product Qualification Activities at Suppliers - Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs)
  • Contain, manage, and resolve quality issues relating to supplier non-conforming components identified at our clients' assembly facilities, warehouses, or customers globally
  • Manage suppliers to properly handle non-conformance issues
  • Assist with process improvements
  • Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions through Problem Resolution process
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to ensure business continuity
  • Identify and support cost reduction opportunities through interaction with the Supply Chain/Strategic Business
  • Audit existing and potential suppliers to determine manufacturing capability and ensure quality systems are in place
  • Develop supplier capability to meet current and future requirements
  • Interact with customer-facing businesses to investigate potential product non-conformances, manufacturing development, and improvement via regular in-person presence at supplier sites
What You Bring
  • Required: Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control routines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with design engineering organization to ensure parts are manufacturable
  • Proven ability to manage multiple problem investigations simultaneously
  • Self-motivated attitude and ownership of projects
  • Ability to project manage Product and Process Qualifications and unexpected Supplier Quality Issues from beginning to end
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and assessment of inspection capability
  • Experience working with or at manufacturing facilities
  • Experience working with critical parts (e.g., disc, shaft, complex assemblies)
Preferred
  • Proven track record of applying quality improvement processes and tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa)
  • SAP experience
Working Requirements
  • In-office presence - minimum 3 days per week
  • No legal travel regulations
  • Travel to suppliers up to 50%
