Job description
Overview

15 hours per week (Term Time). Fixed Term – 30/06/26. Coleg Gwent has an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting learners to reach their potential. The postholder will work closely with teaching staff to induct learners to the college and provide pastoral guidance and support to the learners throughout their journey so that they excel academically.

Responsibilities
  • Support and proactively monitor targets for a caseload of learners in a pastoral role, including setting targets to ensure high attendance levels, good punctuality, academic progress, and positive attitudes towards learning, as well as referring to and ensuring that Independent Development Plans (IDPs) and additional support needs are secured and monitored.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to induct learners and provide ongoing pastoral support to help them achieve their academic goals.
Requirements / Desirable
  • Ability to use the Welsh language at a basic level (or willingness to undertake training) is desirable.
  • Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will not be treated less favourably than applications submitted in English.
  • Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) if appropriate.
  • Please note that successful candidates will be expected to pay for the Enhanced Disclosure and registration with the Education Workforce Council.
