Caerphilly

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented engineer with a passion for structural inspections? Our client, a leading Marine and Civil Engineering company, is looking for a Structures Inspector to join their growing team.

Based in Cardiff, they employ specialists delivering a wide variety of access engineering services, including commercial diving, confined space operations, and civil engineering projects across diverse environments.

What the Role Involves:
  • Inspecting structures such as culverts, bridges, and retaining walls
  • Leading inspection teams on-site
  • Producing professional reports, CAD drawings, and defect schedules
  • Planning and managing complex, one-off projects
What We’re Looking For:
  • Degree qualified (or HNC / HND) in Civil / Structural Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Excellent organisational and IT skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, AutoCAD
  • Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfort working outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces, and waterways
  • A full UK driver’s licence and competent swimming ability
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
  • Confined space training (training can be provided)
  • BICS qualification in progress or willingness to pursue
  • Experience in bridge inspection / maintenance and relevant UK standards
  • Good physical fitness for walking over rough terrain and working in challenging conditions
