Job description
Overview

Calibre Search are working alongside a long-established, Yorkshire-based Design Consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering intelligent, practical engineering solutions. For decades, they've partnered with developers, architects, contractors, and local authorities to shape projects ranging from landmark high-rise developments to complex refurbishments and major industrial masterplans. Known for being approachable, reliable, and highly professional, the firm has become a trusted name across the region and further afield.

As a Structural Engineer, you'll work on an incredibly varied portfolio, from reinforced concrete frames for high-rise residential schemes to helping convert disused buildings into modern cultural venues, masterplanning industrial parks on brownfield land, or developing foundations for energy-from-waste facilities. The workload also includes sensitive heritage refurbishments, live production environments, commercial redevelopments, and sports and education projects, ensuring you won’t be stuck on the same type of work.

The role emphasises delivering elegant and buildable solutions with a focus on sustainability—reusing existing structures, cutting embodied carbon, and applying modern methods of construction. Clients return to them because they combine deep technical expertise with a collaborative, down-to-earth approach.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from feasibility through to delivery, working closely with architects, contractors, and local authorities.
  • Mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and supporting their professional growth.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver practical, sustainable engineering solutions across varied project types.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working toward Chartership (or chartered status) as part of professional development.
  • Interest in challenging, varied projects within a consultancy with a strong reputation and supportive culture.
Benefits & Culture
  • Competitive salary.
  • Generous holiday allowance, company pension, and flexible working arrangements.
  • Structured professional development (including support toward Chartership if required).
  • Friendly, supportive culture with collaboration encouraged and regular social and professional events.

If you hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, are working toward Chartership, and are excited by the opportunity to contribute to challenging, varied projects, please contact Sam at Calibre Search or click apply.
