A leading design consultancy in the UK seeks a design engineer with experience in structural or temporary works. The role involves client interaction, project management, and shaping solutions for rail projects. Offering a hybrid work model and support for professional development. Candidates should have 2-6 years in design engineering and proven rail project experience.
Are you a structural or temporary works design engineer who enjoys client interaction and seeing designs come to life on site?
Would you like to join a business that gives you autonomy, support and a clear route to chartership?
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Croydon – hybrid after settling-in period
This employee-owned consultancy is known for its open culture, faster progression, and strong sense of community. The Croydon office has a social, close-knit team of around 12, and you’ll be stepping into a key position taking over established project work within the rail sector, including bridges, canopies and temporary works.
The role suits an “all-rounder” design engineer with either structural or temporary works experience who’s keen to broaden into the other discipline. You’ll liaise directly with clients, manage your own workload, and play a visible part in shaping design solutions across multiple rail projects.
Expect real variety, technical challenge, and the opportunity to learn from highly experienced senior engineers who’ll actively support your professional development and chartership journey.
