A leading healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Consultant in Stroke medicine to join their team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The role involves taking independent responsibility for the care of stroke patients, collaborating with the clinical team, and supervising medical staff. Ideal candidates will have a medical qualification and full GMC registration. This permanent position offers a salary range of £109,725 to £145,478 per annum, with full-time working hours.
A dynamic and innovative Consultant with a special interest in Stroke is invited to join Chesterfield Royal Hospital. The post suits someone with ambition, drive and passion who will work collaboratively with regional colleagues. You will have supervisory skills and be committed to education and training for our medical workforce, students and wider clinical team. You will have completed broad-based general medical training along with specific training in Stroke medicine and have gained CCT or be within six months of obtaining this. Flexible working options are welcome. Depending on experience, you may wish to develop a sub-specialist interest within Stroke medicine and undertake a more varied role, which could include: potential to continue other specialty work (e.g., Acute Medicine) and a lead role for MECD in Undergraduate Medical Education. Our ambition is to provide high quality services for patients across North Derbyshire and the surrounding area. You will take independent responsibility for care of stroke patients in all elements of the pathway, engage fully with the clinical MDT, and provide expert clinical opinion and leadership for the service. There is no requirement to be part of the consultant on-call rota, but there is opportunity to contribute to the 7-day Stroke and Geriatrics provisions, including weekend work on the Acute Frailty Unit and Eastwood ward.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such a Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
