We re looking for a Strategy, Planning and Performance Lead to play a key role in shaping the future of NHS Property Services. In this high-impact position, you ll lead the development, alignment, and performance management of functional strategies, ensuring they connect seamlessly with our broader corporate vision. You ll report directly to the Head of Strategy and Transformation, with a dotted line to the Head of Business Management (CEO), giving you visibility and influence at the highest level of the organisation. This role is perfect for someone who combines strategic thinking with strong leadership and influencing skills. You ll engage senior stakeholders confidently, communicate with clarity, and manage financial performance and budgets while ensuring governance and compliance standards are met. To succeed, you ll bring deep expertise in strategic planning, performance management, and business planning processes, along with a solid understanding of corporate governance and reporting frameworks. You ll also represent NHSPS to internal and external stakeholders, driving collaboration and impact across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the development, alignment, and performance management of functional strategies to deliver on organisational priorities.
  • Driving multi-year strategic portfolio plans, ensuring resources are optimised for success.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with business leads to create and maintain a multi-year strategic business plan and roadmap of key initiatives, programmes, and projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining frameworks for strategic planning, performance management, and reporting to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Conducting research and analysis to identify market trends and opportunities that inform strategic decisions.
  • Developing strategic approaches to key business challenges and opportunities, such as space utilisation, leveraging data and external insights.
  • Implementing strategies to achieve long-term business objectives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Monitoring and evaluating organisational performance against agreed targets, driving continuous improvement.
  • Enhancing planning and performance processes by improving metrics, dashboards, tools, and governance frameworks.
