Technical Author Role Overview

You will join the company’s busy Technical Support team in Derbyshire, with a focus on creating and maintaining high quality SOP’s (standard operating procedures, installation/user manuals and the creation of drawings/models for product fabrications.

Technical Author Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Technical Author, with Illustrations / Illustrator expertise.
  • Proficient in CAD, Solidworks and Adobe packages including Illustrator.
  • Good understanding of basic engineering principles.

CNC Miller Candidate Requirements

  • Apprenticeship Trained, time served, NVQ level 3, or higher
  • Excellent interpersonal / communication skills, able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a precision machining role
  • Experience of multiple control systems is preferred (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, Mazatrol)
  • Knowledge of relevant industries, Nuclear, Power Generation, Aerospace
  • Proven experience of working to high precision tolerances
  • Previously worked with a wide range of materials

CNC Turner / Miller Essential Candidate Experience
  • Proven experience of both Manual and CNC Turning or Milling.
  • Must be Time Served / Apprentice Trained (or equivalent).
  • Must be able to Program, not just Operate the business write their own programs.
  • Experience working on a one‑off high precision components.
  • Knowledge of either Fanuc, Siemens or XYZ controls.
  • The CNC Turner / Miller will focus on one‑offs and small batches of complex precision machined components from various aerospace grade materials.
  • Setting, programming, operating milling or turning machines.
  • Accurately inspecting and measuring components using various inspection equipment.
