Job Title: Resource Controller (Storeperson)

Base Location: Fareham, Palmerston Depot

Salary: £24,309 - £31,230 depending on skills and experience and working hours – plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Fixed Term Contract (12-months Maternity Cover) - Full Time, Monday – Friday. Typical hours are 07:30 - 15:30

Could you be our next Resource Controller/Storeperson to join the team and drive this success forwards?

What will I be doing in this role?

As a Resource Controller/Storeperson for the Highways electrical team your responsibilities will include management and procurement of materials, stock management, fleet/equipment/plant/building compliance, and supporting the team in job and supplier coordination.

In a typical day, you could expect to;
  • Stock management – including stock system management, booking in and out and goods.
  • Undertake stock control which would include manual handling and accounting.
  • Ensure appropriate arrangements are in place to maximise stock availability to meet contractual/customer demands.
  • Deal with external suppliers to ensure stock items are at the correct price and delivered at the correct time.
  • Manage and control transport serving/maintenance booking ensuring all vehicle operational needs are met.
  • Manage building maintenance and compliance.
  • Program Management – building a program, liaising with clients, operatives and sub‑contractors.
  • Management and control of plant and equipment – including ordering and calibration.
  • Support with training coordination, HERs/NERs portfolios.
  • Work to and manage a master operative resource log.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
  • Exceptional IT skills – web‑based systems, database management systems and stock management systems.
  • Experience in end‑to‑end delivery of material management, with knowledge of the supply chain and procurement processes required.
  • A valid forklift licence is required.
  • Program management and coordination experience.
  • Experience/ability to control an asset logging or other database systems.
Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are;
  • Supply chain and sub‑contractor coordination.
  • Experience in building management/asset management.
  • Knowledge in using general accounting software for raising orders.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, guidance and good practice.
  • We can support the right candidate to achieve any level of industry training/qualifications they may not have in the ‘nice to have’ list.
