Qualifications

About the Role

As a Stockyard Despatcher at our Warnham site, you will load vehicles with the correct quantity and type of brick in the safest and quickest manner in line with despatch tickets and Quality Assurance Manuals and assist other fork truck drivers in the performance of their duties.

You will be hands‑on with the day to day operations of our manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times.

We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Stockyard Despatcher where you will…

  • Collect despatch notes from the wagon drivers, determine the type and quantity of bricks required, and load the vehicle from the stock yard in such a way as to minimise subsequent movement and damage during transportation
  • Unload incoming goods
  • Run the stockyard in a manner that ensures stock rotation
  • Set aside broken packs to repair, re‑pack or re‑sort
  • Ensure that all packaged bricks are transported and placed on the stockyard in a safe and efficient manner
  • Keep all areas free from waste at all times, disposing of bricks / waste etc into the appropriate areas
  • Assist in keeping the stock yard plan updated
  • Assist other fork truck drivers as required
  • Keep the forklift truck topped up with the required amounts of oil, fuel and water and keep it clean and tidy
  • Report any truck defects to the Stockyard Team Leader.
  • Assist in stocktaking procedures
  • Undertake DeHacker forklift truck duties, as required
  • Perform any other duties as and when required by the Site Management

Hours of Work : – Monday to Thursday, and – Friday

About You
  • Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license
  • You’ll enjoy working in a busy environment where you can roll your sleeves up and get hands‑on
  • Flexible and able to adapt to the different daily priorities in the factory which help us run efficiently
  • Safety is our biggest priority, so you’ll be committed to safe working and have good general safety awareness
  • You’ll be fit enough to perform your duties, which are varied, and sometimes physically demanding
  • Good literacy - as there is some paperwork involved
  • Excellent time keeping
  • A can‑do attitude
  • Good team working skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised

Experience in a factory / manufacturing environment is desirable, but not essential, as full training is provided.
