Job summary

A manufacturing company in the UK is seeking an experienced Stock Controller. The successful candidate will manage receipt, control, storage, and dispatch of components and finished goods. Strong logistics experience is essential, along with a good education in English and Maths. The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, with attention to detail. This is a permanent position with a typical 36-hour workweek and potential for flexible hours.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Stock Controller to be responsible for the receipt, control, storage and dispatch of all components and finished goods. This is a permanent position.

We welcome applications from ex-service personnel who have stores / logistics experience.

Previous experience of stock control and logistics is essential, but experience / knowledge in a manufacturing environment and / or electronic components and forklift licence would be an advantage.

Essential Skills

• Good basic education proficient English and Maths and computer skills including ability to work with word documents & spreadsheets.
• Physical fitness: able to bend, stretch and carry. Good spatial awareness. Ability to use handling and packing equipment including pallet truck & forklift.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.
• Organisational skills: able to plan workload and prioritise work. Organise stores layout to maximise efficiency.
• Good communication skills: able to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers both face to face and on telephone.
• High level of attention to detail, accuracy working with parts numbers, quantities and dates.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of computerised stock systems, in a manufacturing / electronics industry (MRP).
• Forklift Licence - Counterbalance up to 5000kgs (B1).

36 Hours per week (Mon-Thurs) 7.30am – 5pm (30 min unpaid lunch break). We may be able to offer some flexibility on these hours.
