Kingston Barnes is currently recruiting for a Stock Controller for one of our clients in the North Somerset area.

The Company

A rapidly expanding company supplying bespoke products to a wide range of market sectors including construction, engineering, and manufacturing. They are looking to expand their team to meet production needs due to their growth.

The Role

You will be reporting to the purchasing supervisor and responsible for managing stock lines to ensure production availability. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and manage stock levels to meet demand while minimizing costs.
  • Use stock systems to order and ensure timely product availability.
  • Conduct regular stock counts, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile inventory.
  • Communicate with suppliers to track orders, resolve issues, and expedite urgent stock.
  • Maintain accurate ERP item records, ensuring correct costing and sales prices.
  • Handle customer returns, following proper return and credit processes.
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Resolve invoice queries and collaborate with forwarding agents and hauliers.
  • Ensure accurate Bill of Materials for manufacturing, including tools and product configuration.
  • Track and address slow-moving stock, recommend solutions, and improve processes.
  • Prioritize daily system reports, collaborating with sales and production teams to meet goals.
  • Oversee new product launches, ensuring stock availability and approval processes.
  • Continuously evaluate reports, identify inefficiencies, and improve workflows.
The Candidate
  • Experienced in inventory management and purchasing
  • Working knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems
  • Background in manufacturing/Engineering/Production
  • Experience working with forecasting demand, supplier management, minimum order quantity, lead time
  • Familiar with supply chain practices
  • Great communicator
  • IT literate (MS applications)
