A 12 month secondment opportunity has arisen within the Stem Cell Transplant Nurse Specialist for a Band 7 CNS. A band 6 development post would be considered for those depending on experience and interview.

You should possess excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and ideally have experience of lung cancer and/or cancer nursing. The successful applicant will need to be dynamic and able to work flexibly as part of the MDT; you will need to be resilient and able to influence in order to cope with the demands of the role and the service need.

The post holder will work towards providing specialist care advice and support to patients and their carers throughout their cancer care pathway, working as an integral member of the haematology cancer team.

Base Location: Bournemouth Hospital

Interview Date: 9th January 2026

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with NMC
  • Evidence at completion of degree or masters modules
  • Relevant post registration specialist training at masters level equivalent.
  • Clinical Leadership Training, Physical Examination and Non-Medical Prescribing
Experience
  • Evidence of good experience working within the cancer care setting/ cancer nurse specialist role sites
  • Experience in leading and managing staff
  • Experience of being accountable for the delivery of a clinical/nursing service
  • Ability to manage and deliver to deadlines and within resources.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them
Technical
  • Experience at of working with multidisciplinary groups and establishing relationships across the Trust and Cancer Partnerships/Alliances
  • Ability to analyse complex information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good listening skills
Knowledge
  • Demonstrable knowledge of developments in Cancer Services and treatments at national and local levels
  • In‑depth knowledge of haematology cancer/stem cell transplant
