This is a full-time, staff-level software engineering role where you will work as a technical lead and individual contributor on our Payments team. Payments is one of three product areas (along with Accounting and Student Billing) that are part of our Financial Technology offering for our schools. The Payments product focuses on building and improving our online payments platform, VC Pay, and supporting our payment integrations with other Veracross products. Accounting helps schools manage their general ledger and accounts payable/accounts receivable. Student Billing manages charges, payments, and statements for students and their families.
Having an all-in-one integrated billing, accounting, and school information system improves the lives of school staff and families by bringing otherwise complex workflows into one streamlined system. This role includes technical leadership and mentorship for other engineers on the team. Candidates with experience integrating payment processors (domestic and international) are especially encouraged to apply.
Our engineering team is remote-friendly and distributed, with employees in a variety of states and contractors in several countries. While our headquarters is in Wakefield, MA, proximity to this location is a plus; candidates are encouraged to apply from anywhere.
We are specifically looking for candidates with previous FinTech experience. While experience integrating payment providers is required, the following experience is a big plus, but not mandatory for a strong candidate:
Salary for this position is determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications. The compensation range is $140k to $170k (annualized USD) plus potential bonus.
