A healthcare organization in Shrewsbury is looking for a Band 5 nurse to join their Same Day Emergency Care unit. The role involves delivering high-quality care, conducting assessments, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to join Acute Medicine at SaTH. We are a fast paced unit with 8 trolleys & 14 chairs. As a band 5 nurse within our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient centred care to individuals requiring urgent assessment, diagnosis & treatment without the need for hospital admission. You will work as part of our dynamic multidisciplinary team, supporting the rapid assessment & management of patients presenting with a wide range of acute medical conditions.
Your role will involve undertaking timely clinical assessments, administering treatments, monitoring patient progress, and providing clear information & reassurance to patients and their families. You will be expected to demonstrate sound clinical judgement, prioritise workload effectively & respond to changing patient needs in a face-paced environment.
You will also contribute to the timely flow of patients through the unit by collaborating closely with doctors, ACP's and administrative staff, ensuring care is safe, efficient and in line with national SDEC pathways & guidance.
