Are you a compassionate and motivated nurse looking to make a real difference in the lives of older people with mental health needs? Beechwood Ward at Parklands Hospital is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team.

The closing date is 05 October 2025

Beechwood Ward is a specialist assessment and treatment unit for older adults experiencing functional mental health conditions such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Our focus is on delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes dignity, recovery, and independence.

The ward features a peaceful garden and seating area, offering a therapeutic environment for patients and a welcoming space for families and visitors. As a Staff Nurse, you\'ll play a key role in delivering care plans, supporting recovery, and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

Main duties of the job
  • Partake in clinical and management supervision and attend all developmental training sessions.
  • Take charge of a ward from time to time as allocated.
  • Adhere to those stipulations as defined in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
  • Exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation, good communication and relationships within the nursing team under the guidance and supervision of the Ward Manager and Nurse Team Leader.
  • Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any specific clinical activity as appropriate.
  • Inform the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any professional issues as necessary.
  • Report to, or assist/advise the Ward Manager and/or Nurse Team Leaders of any matters of complaint.
