Are you a registered nurse with a passion for mental health care? We are looking for compassionate and motivated Staff Nurses (Band 5) to join our Adult Inpatient teams in Exeter. We have opportunities across three settings: The Junipers (PICU, Wonford House), Russell Clinic (rehabilitation and recovery ward), and Delderfield Ward (The Cedars).
The Junipers is a modern, 10-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) set in the tranquil grounds of Wonford House. We provide specialist, short-term care for men and women with acute and complex mental health needs. Russell Clinic supports people with complex psychosis to rebuild their lives using person-centred care and a range of therapeutic and recovery-focused approaches. Delderfield Ward at The Cedars provides compassionate assessment, care and treatment for adults with significant mental health difficulties, with a strong focus on safety, dignity and recovery.
Whether you\'re newly qualified or experienced, you\'ll be welcomed into a supportive, multidisciplinary team with access to training, development and career progression. You will need excellent communication skills and we are always looking for nurses who are keen to share new ideas and seek improvements.
As a Staff Nurse working across our Exeter Adult Mental Health Inpatient Wards, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to adults experiencing acute or complex mental health needs.
You\'ll be supported with supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.

Experience – Essential: Experience of Adult and/or Older Persons mental health nursing and the nursing process.
Knowledge – Essential: Knowledge of ordering, storing and administering required medications; knowledge of possible side effects of medication; knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1987 (including updates); knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.
Desirable: Knowledge and skills in providing supervision; understanding of Recovery principles in Mental Health; knowledge and understanding of both adult and childrens safeguarding guidance.
Skills & Abilities – Essential: Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users, carers and other professional bodies; ability to engage in and lead MDT meetings; ability to assess situations, make decisions, coordinate and organise appropriate responses; maintain personal boundaries; risk assessment; ability to work within ward shift rotations including nights; adherence to Data Protection and Confidentiality policies; ability to model best practice; promote effective service delivery and positive change; willingness to develop self.
Qualifications – Essential: Registered Nurse (Mental Health / Learning Disability) with current UK NMC registration or pending.
