Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust Treatment Room service in the Greater Preston and Chorley South Ribble areas. The service operates Monday to Friday (excluding weekends and bank holidays) with appointment‑only hours of 08:30 to 16:30, plus two late evening clinics (up to 8 pm) and one early clinic (8 am start) once a week. Applicants must be able to work flexibly over 5 days, work well within a team and on their own initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a high standard of clinical and nursing care within the treatment room setting, including nurse‑led services.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care; undertake extended roles appropriate to treatment room services.
  • Provide care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, perform post‑operative wound assessment, remove sutures and clips, administer intra‑muscular injections, perform lower limb assessments, compression bandaging and ear irrigation.
  • Participate in a range of clinical and service audits within the treatment room and comply with all policies and protocols relating to treatment room.
  • Assist in delivering objectives set out within the Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust business plan.

  • Experience in treating patients through wound care, injections and related treatment room procedures is desirable.
Work Patterns
  • Appointment‑only service between 08:30 and 16:30 on weekdays; 2 late evening clinics (up to 8 pm) and one early clinic (8 am) once a week.
  • Flexible working options such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi‑time may be considered.
