Job description
Overview

We are looking for a registered nurse with a passion for palliative care to work as part of our multidisciplinary team based in Winsford. An opportunity has arisen on our ten bedded In Care Unit at St Lukes (Cheshire) Hospice. If you want the time to give compassionate patient centred care as part of a small multidisciplinary team please apply.

Details

We have a 22.5 hr per week role available on days; the position is for 3 days per week. Our shift patterns are 7.30am to 3.30pm and 1.30pm to 9.30pm. Occasional requirements for day staff to cover night duty.

Responsibilities
  • To work within the policies and procedures of the Hospice in order to maintain a safe working environment
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
  • To practise research-based techniques in care delivery
  • To participate in the introduction and evaluation of new procedures for patient care
  • To always act within the Code of Professional Practice and treat patients safely, with dignity, holistically and respect confidentiality
  • To participate in multi-disciplinary and clinical meetings
  • Liaison with other professional groups involved in patient care
  • Contribute towards prevention and management of infections
  • The post holder will be responsible for the Health and Safety of patients, staff and visitors whilst on duty
  • The post holder will take responsibility for the management of the caseload in the absence of the sister or ward manager and will co-ordinate the service and supervise staff where appropriate
