About The Team

You’ll be joining a highly skilled, globally distributed DevOps team driven by a passion for quality, security, and customer impact. As the stewards of the Neurons Agent, our team takes end‑to‑end ownership—designing, developing, and maintaining agent code that must work seamlessly across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms running on both Intel and ARM architectures.

As the providers of critical infrastructure for functional engines, our team also frequently cooperates with other teams to analyze their needs and identify required changes and improvements. Collaboration is critical in our remote‑first environment, and personal responsibility is high: every team member is entrusted with solving complex problems and delivering features that matter to our customers. We prioritize stable releases, continuous monitoring, and rapid iteration, ensuring our agents meet the highest standards of performance and reliability while minimizing their footprint on user devices.

About the Role

As a Staff Linux Software Engineer on our Ivanti Neurons Agent platform team, you’ll drive the architecture, implementation, and ongoing improvement of our Linux agent, which communicates with our Neurons Cloud Platform. You will partner with team leads and engineers across the globe to deliver robust, secure, and high‑performing solutions for enterprise customers.

How Will You Spend Your Day?
  • Lead design, development, and deployment of core agent features and platform infrastructure for Linux.
  • Build reliable, scalable, and secure solutions with minimal impact to customer endpoints.
  • Take responsibility for troubleshooting, debugging, and solving complex platform issues.
  • Champion best practices in DevOps, Agile methods, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve automated and integration test suites critical to platform quality.
  • Mentor engineers and lead technical reviews, setting high standards for security and performance.
  • Collaborate with Windows and Mac platform leads and feature teams to support seamless engine integration.
  • Advocate and drive adoption of cloud strategies, particularly those leveraging Azure.
  • Ensure clear technical documentation and effective knowledge transfer within the distributed team.
What Is Your Background?
  • Deep hands‑on expertise in Linux programming and debugging (multiple distributions preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of modern C++ for robust, maintainable software architecture.
  • Proven experience leading architectural efforts and mentoring other engineers.
  • Extensive background in DevOps best practices (CI/CD, automation, cloud deployment), ideally with Azure.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies; willing to lead and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing automated and integration tests.
  • Expertise with source control (Git/GitHub), build systems (CMake), and collaboration tools.
  • Effective communicator with strong documentation and mentorship skills.
  • Self‑driven, comfortable with change, and able to thrive in a remote, globally distributed team.
