A global engineering and technology firm in Leicester is seeking a Staff Accountant to deliver accurate financial reporting. The successful candidate will manage profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements while ensuring compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations. The business is currently undergoing a strategic expansion, including the planned integration of new brands and technologies, making this a pivotal time to join the finance team at their Leicester site.

What you'll do

As Staff Accountant, you will support the site Controller and wider finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, maintaining general ledger entries, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external standards such as US GAAP, local GAAP, and SOX.

You will also play a key role in audit preparation, account reconciliations, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and internal controls.

What you’ll need to succeed
  • A qualification in Accounting
  • Strong accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Power BI is a plus)
  • Knowledge of tax accounting, fixed assets, and treasury functions
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach and a commitment to continuous improvement
